Radhakrishnan had joined ALMT in 2009 from the Hyderabad office of FoxMandal Little, as it was then called, and specializes in corporate commercial, M&A and projects.
She said that during the growth path to partnership she began being involved in the business development activities of the firm, which she would continue.
“Post the partnership I will continue to be heavily involved in execution but in the longer run I will also work to cementing the team internally and supporting the equity partners,” added the 2001 graduate of Dr Ambedkar law college of the University of Madras.
“It’s well deserved,” commented Mumbai partner Hitesh Jain commented. “From the ranks [in Mumbai] last year also, we got three partners, she is the fourth one.”
Radhakrishnan’s promotion takes ALMT’s Mumbai partnership up to five salaried and five equity partners.
Bangalore, which saw no partner promotions this year, has five equity and two salaried partners. Two partners are based in the firm’s Delhi office and one in London.
ALMT co-founding partner Ananjan Mitter retired in September 2012 to pursue a business opportunity outside the law. ALMT senior associate Preeti Balwani joined Khaitan Sud & Partners (KSP) as a partner in March 2013.
Jain said that ALMT salaried partners were treated the same as equity partners in taking firm decisions, and although formally they are not entitled to vote at partnership, they were drawn closely into the decision-making process.
The total headcount at the firm was now around 95 professionals, he said, adding that since the Clasis Law breakaway in 2011, the ALMT partnership had consolidated and managed to create the “next level who will also join hands in building the blocks of the firm”.
A total of three associates were also promoted to senior associate level in Mumbai: Siddhi Ghatlia, Suhana Islam and Stuti Jain.
