Job description:

The work is fast moving, technical, bespoke, real world and practical. You will work on a broad array of transactions including real estate finance, project & structured finance, derivatives, debt financing and restructuring. All roles will report to the senior management team of HSA Advocates. The role also requires getting involved in new business development and marketing initiatives. The work covers the full range of bank and capital markets financing techniques across various sectors. The Banking and Finance practice advises banks, multi-lateral agencies, major corporations, project sponsors and governments in complex local and cross-border finance transactions.

Candidate requirements:

  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in law.

  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of experience in a law firm.

  • Strong exposure to relevant banking and financial regulations in India.

  • Detailed grasp of complex legal concepts and excellent drafting skills

  • They have a commercial perspective and can provide complex legal advice to clients

  • They are service oriented and are driven to deliver to clients

  • Not afraid of taking up challenging tasks and are resilient to achieve them

  • They have an experience with leading teams and mentoring and coaching juniors

  • Determined to personal, team and firm development and success.

  • Candidates should have experience in the following areas:

    • Advising on a variety of finance transactions, across various disciplines and sectors

    • Managing transactions from engagement to completion, including supervising and coordinating other junior team members

    • Developing and demonstrating resilience and autonomy whilst maintaining the highest levels of client care and standards, taking responsibility for calling on your seniors for supervision and guidance where appropriate

    • Drafting and negotiating complex finance documentation, demonstrating a strong familiarity with IBA and APLMA type documentation and an ability to draft and work with bespoke documents and structures

    • Substantial experience working on cross-border transactions

    • Developing familiarity with likely issues and challenges and demonstrating an ability to manage all aspects of the transaction to "get the deal done"

    • Initiating and developing client relationships through, amongst other things, networking, targeted business development initiatives and assisting with formal responses to requests for proposals.
