We have compiled this list after detailed discussions with a large number of moot court convenors and participants.

Based on feedback from readers, we have now included Nalsar B.R.Sawney as a Tier 4 Competition.
We will also include as Tier 3 competitions Monroe E. Price International Media Law Moot Court Competition organised by University of Oxford; ICC Mediation, Paris and International Maritime Arbitration, Perth.

"Anand and Anand IP Law Moot would not be happening this year. In its place, NUJS in collaboration with IPTLS, NUJS would be organising a International Moot Court Competition on IP Law.
One more thought, i do think DMH and NLS arbitration should not be in the same tier. NLS does not have as much as international participation as DMH."
We will take all suggestions on board and will look to incorporate them if necessary.
In response to #2 - we fully intend to cover every single mooting competition on our list this season.
Please help us by letting us know about moots that you are taking part in, sending us your team members, comments and victories.
I am sure most of the national law schools and their MCC will be interested to collaborate with LI.

In fact, that is actually exactly what we have done and are still doing.
We hope to catch all the moot results therefore.

I have few suggestions to make as regards the mooting league table.
Firstly, the table indicates that it is for the year 2009-10. Thus I am presuming that this means Academic Year 2009-10. Therefore, moots from July 2009 to June 2010 should be incorporated in the table. This is important for the reason that this mooting league table, as I see it, is going to last for quite some time (unlike LST's Mootopia). So let us have some uniformity and follow it academic year-wise and at the end of each academic year you may declare the winner of that year.
Secondly, many moots - which would fall in tier 4 competitions - have not been included. For instance V.M. Salgaokar Moot and Rizvi Moot. I udnerstand that these moots are relatively small event events. But in that case, we may have tier 5 for these moots. If you wish, I can provide you with a detailed list of all the moots. However, that would require some research and consequently some time on my part.
Thirdly, there are commas and periods put up after the names of few moots in the list whereas not after others. Small formatting error. Please correct.
Fourthly, even in tier 2 compeitions you have missed out few. For instance Maritime Arbitration, Miami Moot, John Marshall, Oxford IPR etc. Moreover, I see that two Moots organised by NALSAR have not been incorporated even after a comment being made in that regard. If you do not act upon comments promptly then it will only discourage people from pointing out such things in future. Just a freindly suggestion, please take it positively.
Fifthy, and lastly, few awards - which are competition specific - have not been incorporated in the points table. For instance, Maritime Arbitration has Team and Individual Achievement Awards and similary John Marshall has something called as the Ambassador Round.

i am a student of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala, Punjab. this is to bring to your kind attention that a team comprises of Ms. Bhumika Modh, Ms. Roshni Chada and Ms. Sheerin Malik of our university participated in the Justice Tankha Memorial Moot competition being organised by the NLIU Bhopal this Year and secured first position by beating NALSAR in the finals and also secured the Best Memorial runner up trophy. so rate our university in moot accordingly.
One of the Criteria could be the no. of NLSs that participate in the moot.
What about moots which have a 2nd best speaker award, shouldn't they also have the same points as the honourable mention?
I firstly like to praise you for your effort in tabulating the moot court competition is a great manner, it requires a lot of patience congratulations. Well at this point i would like to suggest you that a moot court which has been held since 13 yrs i.e. "The national Moot court Competition" conducted by University Law college, Bangalore, based on environment law must be given the same privity as any other moot court competition which is just a year old. So i request your good self to look in to the aforesaid matter and place the moot accordingly.

The LI team is requested to look into the matter as fast as possible for the 5th edition of the moot is scheduled to be held in feb 2010. All teams from all over the country participate.

The Prize money is also huge....Rs.20,000/- and and excellent trophies..
The dates for the 2010 edition of the moot have been announced..19th 20th and 21st of March.
I strongly recommend this moot to be included in the list. This is also older than many other names out there like the CIAC, IICLAM,ULC, NUJS Corporate, GIMC,NLU Delhi Corporate, BR Shawney...etc...
With 50 colleges in the 2010 edition, it is one of the largest Indian moots in terms of participation.
Kindly explain why it is still considered a tier 4 Moot, while D.M. Harish and NLS International Arbitration are tier 3 Moots?
Nor are reasons being given for non selection of certain moots.
I guess that the Mooting Premier League India is being run and managed by certain people who have vested interests only in certain moots. The big question is why? What incentives are being offered by these cash rich moots for their inclusion.
In case this is not so, then why have moots like GHRLS and ISIL, LawAsia, Nani Palkhiwala, or Pro Bono Moot by SOEL not been included?
Only the big ' M ' lying in the ban accounts of the managers of Mooting Premier League India 2009-10 is the answer to this question.

We did announce several months ago that we could not be including any further moots in this MPL season as it would prejudice things unfairly to add scoring opportunities at a late stage - one college or another would always have complained that they are not participating. The only way to have kept it fair was to retain some consistency after one point, even if it meant excluding a moot which was borderline.
The listed moots and scoring criteria were subject to change and suggestions for a long time and only in exceptional circumstances did we add competitions in the later stages of the competition. The whole process was carried out as transparently as possible if you have been following the MPL throughout the season.
Secondly, I really doubt that any moot would seriously bribe us to be included in the MPL, but thanks for the vote in the MPL's influence, though less in our ethics.
Third, we have said numerous times in the past that the next MPL season would include more moots and we will recompile a list and add moots based on the suggestions received in this forum and others.
