Scoring system: Mooting Premier League India 2009-10

We have compiled a four-tier scoring system for over 30 major moot court competitions with Indian law school participation.

Tier 1 points:
Best Team: 20 points
Runners Up: 15 points
Best Orator / Memorial / Researcher: 12 points each
Honourable Mention: 10 points
Semi Finalist: 10 points

Tier 2 points:
Best Team: 15 points
Runners Up: 10 points
Best Orator / Memorial / Researcher: 10 points each
Semi finalist: 7 points
Honourable Mention: 7 points

Tier 3 points:
Best Team: 10 points
Runners Up: 7 points
Best Orator / Memorial / Researcher: 7 points each

Tier 4 points:
Best Team: 6 points
Runners Up: 3 points
Best Orator / Memorial / Researcher: 5 points each

Tier 1 competitions:

•    Manfred Lachs, world finals.

Tier 2 competitions:
•    Stetson World Rounds,

•    Monroe E. Price International Media Law Moot Court Competition University of Oxford,

We have compiled this list after detailed discussions with a large number of moot court convenors and participants.

However, no list is perfect, so if you have any suggestions about our list and scoring system, please leave a comment below and we will look into it.

We have included the ULC Bangalore moot court competition as a tier 4 moot after feedback and consideration.


UPDATE: 16 November 2009
Based on feedback from readers, we have now included Nalsar B.R.Sawney as a Tier 4 Competition.

We will also include as Tier 3 competitions Monroe E. Price International Media Law Moot Court Competition organised by University of Oxford; ICC Mediation, Paris and International Maritime Arbitration, Perth.
