JPMorgan’s legal team grows to 11 with CAM's Shubhra Tewari

JPMorgan India has hired Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas consultant Shubhra Tewari as assistant general counsel and vice president legal, taking its total legal team to eight lawyers and three company secretaries.

Tewari is reporting to India legal head Jigar Shah, and focuses primarily on equity capital markets and M&A work to support the investment banking and structured credit space.

She had worked in Cyril Amarchand’s Mumbai banking and finance practice for nine years after having graduated from NLSIU Bangalore in 2006, becoming principal associate in 2012, and consultant in 2014.

Under Shah, who joined in 2013 from Deutsche Bank, the team has grown from six lawyers, having earlier this year hired former Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Banking Group lead counsel Simrata Gujral.
