cricket_ballTrilegal has qualified for Delhi's Turf Twenty20 Cup for Law Firms with a perfect score after convincing wins in two games this weekend. Luthra & Luthra has also qualified by winning all its games, while Dua Associates and Kohli & Sobti qualify with two wins each alongside four other law firm teams.

In last weekend's games Trilegal bested Suri & Co's 85 runs in around 11 overs and restricted Desai & Diwanji to a score of 127, which Trilegal achieved in 14-odd overs.

Trilegal team captain and counsel Yogesh Singh said: "The most important aspect has been the fielding and there is no other way to do than to practice."

The result places Trilegal at the top of the ranking with 15 points and a net run rate (NRR) of 3.1, having achieved one bonus point in each of its three game for its high NRR difference.

Singh said: "Our boys have been getting up 7am [three days a week]. We worked on the fielding and bowling and it is coming out really."

Last year's tournament winners Luthra & Luthra picked up four points in their last game against Bhasin & Co.

Luthra bowler and associate Sachit Mathur said: "Bhasin won the toss and put us to bat. We lost some early wickets but with some steady batting towards the end we managed to score 146."

Mathur added that Bhasin was never in the chase after losing some early wickets and ultimately getting bowled out for 129 in the second-to-last over.

Luthra & Luthra will meet Bhasin & Co again in the quarter finals, with Trilegal also re-playing its last opponent Desai & Diwanji in the knock-out round.

Singh noted that it was too early to call Trilegal a favourite but added: "I guess the bad news for the other teams is that some of our trump card [players] haven't played yet."

Fourth ranked Dua Associates had already completed its games last week and qualified with 9 points and two wins, meeting Titus & Co in the quarter finals.

Kohli & Sobti will play Saikrishna in the quarter finals, after Kohli came second after Dua in Pool B with 8 points and Saikrishna ending on 5 points.

For the quarter final Trilegal will again meet Desai & Diwanji.

Talking about strategy for the upcoming game, Trilegal's Singh said: "Essentially, I guess in the first six overs we really want to go after the bowling. However, this is a particularly large ground so it's important to ensure your power hitters are there until the end."

The quarter final matches will be played on 5 and 6 December.

Anand & Anand, Amarchand Mangaldas, Suri & Co and Lall & Sethi failed to qualify from the group stage with four points each.
