The legal services marketplace.

Advisors' Terms & Conditions

If you are a lawyer, advocate or professional advisor (the "Advisor", or "you"), you agree to the following terms and conditions (the "Terms") by continuing to use this website ("Legally Direct" or "we", "us", or "our", as applicable).

Legally Direct is a marketplace where people (the "Clients") can publish their requirements for legal or professional advice and help (the "Case").

  1. You agree that all information you provide or send to us in whatever form is accurate and given in good faith.
  2. You will bid for Clients' work, describing your expertise and a Client's legal situation truthfully, to the best of your ability.
  3. Several other Advisors may also bid for a Case but details of their bids will be hidden from you and will only be visible to the Client. The Client can decide whom to award the Case to (an "Instruction") at his or her absolute discretion.
  4. Once a Client has made an Instruction, it is your responsibility to enter into a lawyer-client or equivalent relationship with the Client and to carry out any due diligence about the Client.
  5. We do not have any liability for any loss, damage or harm that may occur through Your or a Client's use of Legally Direct.
  6. You agree to indemnify us against any legal action or claim a Client may take against us relating to an Instruction you have won.
  7. You may terminate your rights under this agreement at any time, without notice and at your absolute discretion. However, we will not reimburse unutilised subscription charges, if any, to you in such a case, and you will not be able to sign up to Legally India again for a period of at least six months.
  8. In order to safeguard Clients' access to trustworthy legal advice and to protect our brand and integrity of service, Legally Direct's obligations to you and your rights under this agreement may be terminated at any time and without notice by us and at our absolute discretion. In such a case, we will reimburse you on a pro rata basis for any subscription fees you have paid to us but will not be able to utilise due to the termination.
  9. You agree that clients will write reviews about your provided service after they have worked with you. You agree that any such reviews are fair comment and that we have no liability whatsoever for reviews or other content generated by Clients on Legally Direct. If you disagree with a Client's review or content, you can dispute it by contacting us. We will then attempt to reasonably liaise between you and the Client to come to a resolution or to seek a revision of the review, if reasonably possible. If we can not resolve your disagreement but you still want the negative reviews to be removed from Legally Direct, you may terminate your rights under this agreement and your Legally Direct account without notice (as under clause 7, above). All reviews (including positive reviews) will be deleted from Legally Direct as soon as possible. However, if you choose to terminate your account within three months of entering into a review revision process, you will not be able to sign up to Legally Direct again for a period of at least 12 months from the date of termination.
  10. Clauses 5 and 6 (above), will survive any termination.
  11. We may modify or amend these terms at any time, but we will notify you if there is a fundamental change to your obligations or our rights under these terms.
  12. These terms are governed by the law of India and its courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under these terms.
