KhaiCo, W&C, Hogan Lovells do Indian buy of US-Mex-Brazil telecoms tower maker

Khaitan & Co and White & Case LLP have advised Indian-listed transmission tower manufacturer KEC International in its $ 95m acquisition of US-based SAE Towers Holdings LLC which was advised by Hogan Lovells LLP.

Khaitan partners Kalpana Unadkat and Haigreve Khaitan led for KEC International on the Indian laws while White & Case partner Daniel Latham represented on the international law aspects.

Khaitan & Co said in a statement that the firm acted with White & Case in the United States and Mexico, and in Brazil with Machado Meyers.

Hogan Lovells partner Robert A Welp, who is based in Northern Virginia in the US, acted for SAE Towers which is owned by US private equity firm called ACON Investments. SAE Towers Holdings is the holding company having subsidiaries in Brazil, Mexico and the United States.

Subject to regulatory approvals, the acquisition is aimed to increase the global base of KEC International and is expected to help the group emerge as the largest manufacturer of transmission towers in North and South America.
