CAM faces SAM for first time post-break-up on Aditya Birla acquisition of Jubilant Agri hypermarkets business

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) advised Aditya Birla Retail on its acquisition of Jubilant Agri and Consumer Products’ retail hypermarket business Total Super Store, which was advised by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM).

CAM managing partner Cyril Shroff, Bangalore partner Nivedita Rao and Mumbai partners Nisha Kaur Uberoi and SR Patnaik acted for Aditya Birla Retail.

SAM managing partner Shardul Shroff and partner Gunjan Shah with principal associates Aparna Mehra and Shruti Kanodia acted for Jubilant.

The deal covers leasehold rights for four hypermarkets of Total in Bengaluru, including movable and immovable assets, a warehouse, an office premises, working capital, trademarks, intellectual property and other rights associated with Total, through a slump sale for an undisclosed lump sum in cash, reported Mint on 12 May.
