SAM continues reaping from Blackstone ties, helps buy $1.1bn Mphasis from HP with Simpson Thatcher, Platinum and Freshfields

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advised Blackstone on its $1.1bn (Rs 7071 crore) buy of Indian IT outsourcing services provider Mphasis from Hewlett Packard (HP) which was advised by Platinum Partners and Freshfields, as first reported by Bar & Bench, and confirmed to Legally India by authoritative sources inside SAM

SAM partners Shuva Mandal, Raghubir Menon, Abhishek Guha, Yogesh Chande and Shweta Shroff Chopra and principal associate Anirban Bhattacharya, and Simpson London partners Mike Wolfson and Clare Gaskell acted for Blackstone.

Platinum partners Nihar Mody and Piusha Bose, and Freshfields partner Pratap Amin acted for HP

Blackstone will buy HP’s shares at Rs 430 per share, followed by a mandatory open offer for 26 per cent more shares of Mphasis, reported Mint.
