L&L, Indus, S&R, W&C, Freshfields help Carlyle divest $100m in Metropolis Healthcare via BSE block trade

CA Lotus Investments, an investment arm of Carlyle group, sold 65.51 lakh shares of Metropolis Healthcare through a bulk deal on the BSE. The offer size is 13.06 per cent of the outstanding share capital of Metropolis. Currently, CA Lotus holds 71.79 lakh shares or 14.31 per cent stake in the company.

Hindu Business Line

Goldman Sachs (India) Securities Private Limited was one of the brokers to the block trade.

L&L Partners advised the sellers, the Carlyle Group‘s CA Lotus Investments, led by a team including partners Bikash Jhawar and Jitesh Shahani assisted by managing associates Avinash Subramanian and Murtaza Zoomkawala.

White & Case advised the Carlyle Group on non-Indian legal aspects.

IndusLaw advised Goldman Sachs (India) Securities Private Limited led by a team of partner Manan Lahoty, partner Manshoor Nazki and associate Mansi Jhaveri.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partners Arun Balasubramanian and Robert Zehbe advised Goldman Sachs on non-Indian laws.

Update 16 April 2020: S&R Associates advised Citibank, which acted as broker to Carlyle, led by a team including partner Sudip Mahapatra and associate Abhiroop Dutta.
