CAM, SAM, Jones Day, Dorsey Whitney on $742m NTPC OFS

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Dorsey & Whitney advised the ministry of power on the National Thermal Power Corporation’s (NTPC) Rs 5000 crore Offer for Sale (OFS). The OFS was brokered by SBICAP Securities, ICICI Securities, Edelweiss Securities and Deutsche Equities India which were advised by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Jones Day.

CAM managing partner Cyril Shroff, and Delhi partners Aarti Joshi and Gokul Rajan, and Dorsey partner John Nelson Chrisman acted for the government.

SAM Delhi partners Prashant Gupta and Sayantan Dutta, and associate Shraddha Krishnan Das, and Jones Day Singapore partner Manoj Bhargava and associate Ben Witherall acted for the selling brokers.

The two-day offer for sale (OFS) cut the government’s stake in NTPC to 69.96 per cent from 74.96 per cent as held on 31 December, according to Mint.
