Court Witness: I hate, hate, hate courtroom eight

Eight Hate
Eight Hate
Supreme Court postcard writer and anonymous legal Twitter celebrity Court Witness returns, this time, full of hate (hate, hate. Hate).

I hate courtroom eight*

It’s small,
It’s cramped,
It has seats too few.

I hate courtroom eight

I’m always being shoved out of the way
My toes crushed to paste
I get an elbow in the face
every day.

I hate courtroom eight

Someone sneezes on me
Here I get poked in the ribs
All for the crime of standing still.

I hate, hate courtroom eight

If it isn’t body odour
It’s the smell of stale sweat
and it’s all in my way.

I hate, hate, hate courtroom eight

A mob gathers outside
A big case is on inside
I’ll never get to mine in time.

I hate, hate, hate, hate courtroom eight

I can never get in
I can never get out
Even when I hear the matter called out.

I hate, hate, hate, hate courtroom eight

I can’t hear what the judge’s said
The court master couldn’t care less
I beg, almost cry, but all in vain.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate courtroom eight

Miscellaneous day’s done
The crowds have had their fun
I walk an empty corridor
I see an open door
I step in to check
It’s the courtroom I left
So empty, peaceful and pure.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate courtroom eight!

*This is a tirade against the overcrowded courtrooms in the SC, specifically the smaller ones at the back.  I don’t have anything particular against courtroom 8 but just it’s better for a rhyme.
