Bangalore law firm founder Dr Kainth murdered

Kainth: RIP
Kainth: RIP

Dr Amardeep Kainth, the well-known Bangalore corporate lawyer and founder of Dr Kainth & Associates, was found murdered at home today, according to a one-paragraph Times of India report, submitted by a reporter via email:

A 53 year old advocate, identified as Amar Deep Kainth, was found murdered inside his private Apartment in Mahadevapura, East Bangalore. He was living alone as wife was visiting their daughters in Germany.

Update: Deccan Herald reported that Kainth died from headwounds, and according to the police the possible motive was theft, as the house was ransacked.

Kainth completed his LLB from Delhi University and later gained an LLM and a PhD in Germany, at Kiel University.

A fluent German-speaker, Kainth specialised in advising German companies on Indian laws and had set up his firm in 1995.

The firm includes two other partners - Satish Srinivasan and Kapila Sankar P – as well as four senior associates, eight associates, and nine paralegals and consultants, according to its website.

“The legal circuit out here is shocked,” commented a Bangalore lawyer.

Dr Kainth & Associates’ office was not reachable at the time of going to press.

Trilegal Bangalore partner Rahul Matthan tweeted @matthan: “Shocking news. Dr. Kainth was in his own way, a pioneer.”
