Shroffs hope to start Amarchands 4.0 by Akshaya Tritiya

The mediation between Amarchand Mangaldas co-managing partners Shardul Shroff and Cyril Shroff over the break-up of the firm may conclude as early as tomorrow, Monday, with both brothers keen to set up their new firms on Tuesday 21 April 2015 - Akshaya Tritiya - which is one of the Hindu calendar’s most auspicious days, according to sources close to the dispute.

According to Wikipedia, Akshaya Tritiya:

is an auspicious day of the birthday of Lord Parasurama who is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On this day Veda Vyas and Lord Ganesha began to write Mahabharata…

The day is considered auspicious for starting new ventures. The legend is that any venture initiated on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya continues to grow and bring prosperity. Hence, new ventures, like starting a business, construction, etc. is performed on Akshaya Tritiya.

It is understood that Cyril and Shardul both intend to finalise all issues relating to the dissolution and establishing of new firms by tomorrow.

In 2012, the Shroffs had revealed a radical restructuring of the firm's management and partnership, a plan that was dubbed Amarchand 3.0
