Shardul Amarchand officially confirms 15 salary partner promos as Monal Mukherjee to move to Mumbai

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) has now officially promoted 15 to partner, reported Bar & Bench, after the names were first finalised on 27 March 2015 while the Delhi region of the firm under Shardul Shroff was still in the midst of a litigation with its Mumbai region, with new capital markets partner Monal Mukherjee moving to SAM’s new Mumbai office:

  2. Amit Singhania (Direct Tax)
  3. Anuj Berry (Litigation)
  4. Anoop Rawat (Project Finance)
  5. Aparna Tuteja Mehra (Competition)
  6. Harman Sandhu (Competition)
  7. Manika Brar (Competition)
  8. Misha (Litigation)
  9. Monal Mukherjee (Capital Markets)
  10. Nishant Joshi (Litigation)
  11. Rudra Kumar Pandey (Corporate)
  12. Saanjh Purohit (Litigation)
  13. Sakshi Mehra (Corporate)
  14. Saurav De Biswas (Corporate)
  15. Sayantan Dutta (Capital Markets)

Manika Brar in Delhi and Sakshi Mehra in Kolkata were not reported in March, while then-to-be-partner Vaibhav Kothari joined Trilegal, reported Bar & Bench.

In March the website had also reported that seven equity partner promotions would likely be made at SAM - Dev Robinson, Naval Chopra, Prashant Gupta, Raghubir Menon, Ravindra Bandhkavi (who has since joined Trilegal), Shweta Shroff Chopra and Tejas Karia.

Update 22:30: Pallavi Shroff confirmed that those six have indeed now taken equity.

Cyril Shroff, managing partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, had also finalised his promotions of 12 new salaried partners and seven equity partners in March 2015, which were confirmed by Cyril Shroff after the split took effect on 6 May.

    • Arun Prabhu (corporate / TMT),
    • Hyderabad: Harita Rao (projects).
