Herbert Smith Freehills London senior associate Rajesh Chavda, will join Luthra & Luthra as a partner in its Delhi infrastructure and natural resources practice in April 2015, reported Bar & Bench.
The 2000 NLSIU Bangalore graduate, with an LLM from Columbia Law School in New York told Bar & Bench that “Luthra is one of the best firms in the country and it is a good fit for my skills”.
He began his career as a legal counsel at IDFC, followed by Reliance Industries, moving to Herbert Smith, as it then was, in 2007.

P.s. Very well done to Mr. Chavda, I wish you every success in your new role.
There is practically zero training or mentorship, coupled with major lack of professionalism. Many of the brighter lawyers either start their own practice (or move to smaller firms that value quality and offer independence) in 5-10 years, or shift out of the law firm "industry" altogether.
This is much better than making partner in 8-10 years by slogging away at one family owned outfit and making partner by, inter alia, attending family events to please the Top Lala who calls himself Managing Partner.
