The Air Around: Most lawyers I've met are self-consumed, ego-centric & plain arrogant
After being in law school for four years, I know nothing about it. I don't understand it, it's either beyond my realm of understanding or beneath my capacity to generate some interest in it.
Most lawyers that I have met are self consumed, ego-centric, perpetually and unreasonable stressed-out and plain arrogant. This uncontested belief in the self being better than everyone, perhaps helps lawyers establish facts in the court room (it's easier to disregard what's around, when one can).
Whenever I go to a court there is so much awe and competition around. There is so much reverence I see among people for the "senior advocates" and that deeply discomforts me.
In an arena which is supposed to be an equal playing ground, this obligatory reverence towards the successful erodes the very concept of fairness and it is painful to see that happen in the place which is often approached to reinstate fairness.
Perhaps this view is lent from my naive and disinterested ideas to do with law, perhaps I am way too intimidated by the prevailing system thus carving a path for my abhorrance towards it, perhaps, perhaps.
More shall come soon. I don't care if this is too short for your time.
