Is Bihar really growing?
This is one of the poignant question which every Bihari might be asking to himself. With huge developments been seen in some sectors, some sectors still lag behind.
This puts people in a dilemma and compels them to ask this question.
Our very own Chief Minister of Bihar has been carrying this state on his shoulders for almost 6 years now. Too heavy ah...
Yes we can say that Law and order has improved, roads have been smooth these years (thanks for that) and various measures have been taken to clean our holy river Ganga, plans have been put up for enhancing the education system, eradicating poverty....bla bla bla......same old stuffs.
The question is to what extent these plans have been implemented. There are still many of them neglecting education, especially women's education.
(What's there in education....she has to marry and get settled with her husband what else do we want) This was the answer which I personally got when i asked some villagers in Purnea, a small town in Bihar.
Eradicating poverty suits well only on paper. I am not saying that nothing has been done in this field but whatever has been done is too meagre to state.
Being a Bihari myself i have seen this callous attitude which the people of Bihar carry with them.
Throwing stuffs outside the dustbin intentionally, spitting everywhere (Asian paints... rang ache hain - colors are good).
Every girl will get a cycle and a uniform to go to school... whether their home is having electricity or not. Bitter irony, isn't it.
So what can we say? I am not going repeat the question again. In fact i would rather say that, yes, Bihar is growing but through a road full of patches.
First and the foremost thing is people of Bihar have to change...
They have to realize that people form the state... Not the state that forms the people.
Then Bihar will not make its place among the fastest growing state but rather will be listed among the developed states.
