SC(BA) creche: Toys included
SC(BA) creche: Toys included

The Supreme Court has announced that it will open a child care centre on 1 July at in chambers numbers 8 and 9 of the New Lawyers’ Chambers Building at Bhagwan Dass Road, which will be equipped with “child friendly furniture, utensils, toys and play materials and first aid kit”.

The creche will be available Mondays to Fridays from 830am to 630pm during the week, and until 2pm on Saturdays, stated the announcement, and can be used by children from 6 months to two years of age.

The children must have a parent who is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) or an officer or employee of the registry.

There is a Rs 200 registration fee per child, in addition to Rs 6,000 admission fee and a refundable Rs 5,000 security deposit.

Every month Rs 5,000 will have to be paid to the creche in advance as a “care fee”.

The Delhi Rohini district court recently found itself embarrassed after opening a creche but only for “neat, clean, disease-free kids”.
