Nalsar Hyderabad is set to compete with Australian and Canadian law schools in the ICC Trial Competition in The Hague, with a live webcast of the finals at 17:30 India time today (15 April).

[[Nalsar Hyderabad]], along with Bond University, Australia and Osgoode Hall Law School, Canada are to participate in a gruelling final trial of the fourth [[International Criminal Court (ICC) Trial Competition The Hague|ICC Trial Competition]].

The final rounds will be taking place at 17:30 (India time) and will be live webcast on the ICC’s website. The rounds will be judged by Hon’ble judges from the International Criminal Court, according to an official ICC Press release.

This moot is a Tier 2 world class moot in this season of the Mooting Premier League season 2, which is sponsored by Allen & Overy

Three Indian teams were selected to participate in this moot being held at the Hague, Netherlands after being successful in the problem-solving round which helps to filter teams from each country.

This year [[Nalsar Hyderabad]], [[NLS Bangalore]] and [[NLU Jodhpur]] participated in the moot.

The Nalsar team is consisting of Chand Chopra, Anjaneya Das, Niharika Malik and Sarvani Desiraju. Each of the three teams in the final rounds will give oral presentations within their assigned role of prosecutor, defence counsel, or victims’ counsel. “A total of 21 teams from across the world participated in this edition of the moot”, organiser Michelle Johnson told Legally India’s Team MPL, in an email response.

Having reached the finals of this Tier 2 moot, Nalsar is sure to take home 25 MPL points, according to the [[MPL rulebook]]. This will boost its lead in the [[MPL Standings]] and [[NUJS Kolkata]] will have to come out with a strong Vis Vienna performance to overtake Nalsar and win this season of the MPL.

The moot is organised by the International Criminal Law Network (ICLN) with the institutional support of the ICC and the cooperation of the University of Amsterdam, Pace University and the American Society of International Law. The moot problem,which revolves around the trial of the fictitious Mr. John Evans, can be accessed here. Last year, [[NLU Jodhpur]] won the award for the best victims’ counsel. Nalsar was the finalist in the first edition of the moot in 2007.
