Bharuchas bag first Indian M&A mandate for Twitter Inc in $30m buy of ZipDial with AZB Bangalore

Bharucha & Partners and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised social media giant Twitter on its first acquisition in India, in its $30m buy of missed-call marketing platform ZipDial Mobile Solutions, which was advised by AZB & Partners and Gunderson Detter.

Bharucha co-founding partner Alka Bharucha, senior associate Siddharth Manchanda and associates Ayesha Bharucha and Swathi Girimaji acted in their first instruction for the social networking website.

Wilson Sonsini advised Twitter on intellectual property (IP) issues .

AZB Bangalore partner Srinath Dasari, senior associate Nanditha Gopal and associate Rutunjay Singh acted for ZipDial, which assigns its clients special phone numbers on which customers can call and hang up before being charged for the call. Clients can then return customers’ calls or otherwise process the missed call data.

Unilever, Disney, Gillette, Amazon and Facebook are other clients of Zipdial, reported Forbes.

In the space Yahoo acquired Book-pad in 2014, while Facebook acquired Little Eye Labs, advised by J Sagar Associates (JSA) and Sand Hill Counsel.
