NUJS enters 8th place in MPL after beating CLC Delhi in KK Luthra moot

The team from NUJS Kolkata, comprising of Amrit Mahal, Vishnu Tallapragada and Ankit Chavan bested Campus Law Centre, Delhi University to clinch the winners title at the 11th edition of KK Luthra Moot hosted by CLC from 16 to 18 January 2015.

NUJS speaker Mahal commented: “The competition was really well organised. They catered to our every need the instant we made it.

“Mr Sidharth Luthra along with his family and associates personally took care of the arrangements and made sure everyone was comfortable.”

She added: “The competition was very fair. The judges were well acquainted with the facts and intricate details of the problem and knew exactly where to prod. It wasn’t an easy task as all the teams were well prepared. The most challenging rounds were with CLC and NLSIU. It was my first moot as a speaker and an excellent experience at that.”

Campus Law Centre was represented by a team of Anshul Rustagi, Saumy Agarwal and Mansi Arora. The final round held at the India Habitat Centre was judged by an illustrious bench of Justice Sanjay Karol, Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva.

Ayushi Agarwal from NLSIU Bangalore bagged the best speaker award while the best memorial award went to NLU-O Cuttack. The other two semi finalists at the tier 4 competition were NLU Delhi and NLIU Bhopal.

Shobha, who was a member of the organising committee said: “It was an enriching experience and the OC members were really good which helped us in successfully organising another edition.”

The competition saw participation from 74 institutions from India and abroad with 55 teams getting short listed for the oral rounds.

NLU D maintains the lead at MPL 6 followed by NLU Jodhpur, NLIU and NLSIU.
