SRGR Law Offices partner Abhishek Awasthi has joined Khaitan & Co as a consultant in Delhi to kick off its real estate practice there.
Awasthi said that he moved because there was good opportunity and growth with a good team, as the real estate market was moving up. “Khaitan is the right place to go,” he said.
The real estate practice is headed by Sudip Mullick in Mumbai and it would now look to “flex [its] muscles in the Delhi market”, Awasthi added.
Mumbai partner Haigreve Khaitan commented that the firm was keen to strengthen its Delhi real estate team, which currently included counsel PB Jain.
“I think all over we are seeing huge potential in real estate because of brick and mortar, plus real estate funds and real estate financing,” he said about the market.
Awasthi – a 2007 graduate - would join with the potential for partnership track but not as a partner, as was customary for younger lateral hires so they could “spend some time getting to know the firm” and growing into a partner role, explained Khaitan.
SRGR was started in 2009 by four partners of the Delhi office of FoxMandal Little, as it was then called.
“I wish him all the best,” commented SRGR co-founder Saroj Jha. “He was there with me from the very beginning [when starting the firm] and he is a very well-trained lawyer now and it’s time for him to fly.”

Wish you all the best!
Many Many Congrats Sir!!
Miles to go ahead.
Khaitan is not doing good atleast in Real Estate. Apply there and eligibility to get a job is " first get some clients " then get your job!!
they are doing well and flourishing and they will do excellent with solid real estate team in place now..
haha...!! you are being hilarious now, Sir!! How did you assume existence of a smart-phone when all that the comment mentioned was a 'cell-phone.' Your over-smartness is now very amusing. As for your 'more respect' for me; I see that now you are acting like a Fan!! Relax.
Now, show some respect to the name you are using here and try sounding a little ishmart.!!
I can recollect your words "Individuals growth and achievement depends on the community of person working with him" and you have always stood by your words by sharing credits of some of your best work with your team mates(:, which has always pumped-up your team to work even harder for you. You have proved to the world that such achievements are achievable by hard work.
In one of the aforestated comments, one intelligent fellow has given a negative comment on Khaitan's Real Estate Practice, to him/her my only request is to recall the story of "Sour Grapes".
This is nice material, Sir. Can I use this as a template for farewell speech in college.
Many thanks in advance.
Good luck & Best wishes.
Manish Pandey, we hope for a better batting performance from you in the next IPL.
For what it's worth, I spoke to him for a while and there was never any hint of sarcasm and his philosophy on these matters genuinely seems to mean that he's happy for Awasthi and his new role, so reading the quote out of context might be clutching at straws that aren't there...
Ofcourse! going by his philosophy; Mr. Awasthi has done exactly the same thing that his mentor did couple of years ago! I'm sure there is no bad blood.
S.I.T baithaao, boomerang ka pata lagaao :P
BTW,Lawyer saheb, it also implies that you are/were also very 'close' to him to have known how he is referred.
Tks
Now your statement makes no sense. People posting negative comments MUST be without work & clients but those posting positive things are loaded with work and flooded with clients? Is that what u are saying? does not make sense Sir. It does not.! haha!!
