Fox acts on Tata's return to Calcutta in Keventer Rs 500 crore luxury housing JV

Fox & Mandal Kolkata advised local real estate developer Keventer Projects on its Rs 500 crore joint venture with Tata Housing to develop an ultra-luxury residential project. The Tata company handled its legal work in-house in Kolkata.

Fox partner Debanjan Mandal and associates Biswajit Kumar, Rohit Singhania, Shruti Swaika and Somdutta Bhattacharyya acted for Keventer.

Mandal commented that the fact that the Tatas took a majority stake in the JV “demonstrates their keenness in the project and overall value proposition in doing business in Bengal”, particularly in light of the group’s infamous exit from the region in 2008 when it closed down its manufacturing plant in Singur.

The project spans three acres and will offer 5 million square feet of developed residential space, reported the Economic Times
