Aditi Mathur has been promoted to the partnership of Singaporean firm Shook Lin & Bok.
The NLIU Bhopal 2006 LLB graduate and NUS Singapore LLM is part of Shook Lin’s India group, according to a press release from the firm.
Mathur had joined Shook Lin in 2008 after her LLM, having worked between 2006 and 2007 at ICICI Bank as a management trainee after graduating from NLIU.
In May 2012 Shook Lin hired NLSIU Bangalore graduate Azmul Haque as a partner to co-head its India group from English-international firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP). According to a Shook Lin spokesperson, Haque has since left the firm.

great news or only news ?
You are someone who is jealous and will not even be a Partner in Clasis law. Being a Partner is in itself an achievement. A Partner within 8 years in a foreign law firm! Not to forget, there is a Partner from NLS. You are surely someone from a lower level law school who is jealous of someone elses success since you and your college could not achieve the same..
You know next to nothing about me. Come up with a response to my comments instead of dragging my motives, my law school and my achievements into this.
And no, I am of the category who believe that being a partner in any "foreign" law firm is not cause to celebrate unless the foreign firm is worthwhile and the work done is meaningful. I happen to know shook lin bok very closely over more than a decade and have seen the firm slide downhill. Apart from being infatuated by this 'promotion', do you know what work shook lin bok does? Do you know Aditi's profile there? Do you know why Allen Overy ended their JV with Shook Lin Bok? Do you know how long good foreign firms (equivalent to our AMSS) take to promote partner? Have you ever heard of anyone becoming partner at Links / AO / HS / etc etc with less than 10 years of work exp ?
If the answer to any of the above is 'no' your replies are worth nothing.
Still, by all means, a major achievement for her!
