Rajasthan bar council member Biri Singh Sinsinwar, is likely to be appointed as Bar Council of India (BCI) chairman following the expiry of the term of Manan Kumar Mishra on 16 April.
Sinsinwar told Legally India last month that the BCI members had decided on 2 March that he would be elected as chairman.
Today Bar & Bench also reported that Sinsinwar would become the next BCI chairman.
However, it is understood that the actual election will only happen on 16 April, on the day that Mishra’s term expires, and until the formal vote is made by BCI members then, no decision can be binding on members or the BCI.
