Axon Partners LLP advised Bharti Airtel on its €750m bond offering – the first in the currency by an Indian company – with Allen & Overy acting for the banks.

Allen & Overy consultant and registered foreign lawyer Amit Singh, based in Hong Kong, acted for the joint bookrunners and lead managers advising on English law.

Axon co-founding partner Abhimanyu Bhandari acted for Bharti on Indian law, with associates Vinay Sirohia, Kajal Bhimani and Prashant Kumar.

Barclays, BNP, DB, JP Morgan, Standard Chartered and UBS were joint bookrunners and lead managers, according to the PTI.

The first Indian corporate bond in Euros, guaranteed by Bharti Airtel and issued through its Dutch subsidiary Bharti Airtel InternationL (Netherlands) BV, received bids for €3.8bn for coupon rates of 4.05 per cent.
