HFW hires Clydes NLS grad Hari Krishna for Dubai shipping practice

Krishna: Multi-jurisdictional
Krishna: Multi-jurisdictional

Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has hired NLSIU Bangalore 2004 graduate and Clyde & Co senior associate Hari Krishna for its shipping practice in Dubai.

Krishna, who also holds an LLM from Tulane Law School in admiralty and maritime law, was at Clydes from 2007 and had worked in the chambers of Mumbai advocate and maritime law practitioner S Venkiteswaran until 2005.

Krishna told Legally India via email that he hadn’t focused on India work specifically at Clydes but hoped to do more of it.

“The work I do tends to be multi-jurisdictional, be it advising offshore energy players or commodities traders. So there is sometimes an Indian element and sometimes not,” he said.

“But I have always wanted to be able to provide these specialist services to the Indian market, and my new role at HFW puts me in a better position to achieve that goal. HFW has a long history of advising the Indian marine industry.

HFW Dubai shipping head and partner Simon Cartwright commented in a press release that Krishna would be a valuable addition to the team. He has joined the firm as a senior associate.

Clyde was not available for comment at the time of going to press.
