Wadia G promotes 2 solicitors, 1 non-sol to partner and 18 new Mumbai senior associates

Wadia Ghandy promoted three lawyers – Nihas Basheer, Anand Shah and Manish Vora - to partner level, as first reported by Bar & Bench.

The promotions were announced today and take retrospective effect from 1 April, Wadia Ghandy managing partner Ashish Ahuja told Legally India.

Basheer, who specialises in banking and structured finance, graduated from Nuals Kochi in 2007 when he joined Wadia Ghandy.

Shah and Vora graduated from GLC Mumbai and are both qualified Bombay solicitors. Shah had joined the firm in 2004 and focuses on private equity and banking while Vora, who joined in 2006, specialises in real estate.

The firm also promoted 21 associates to senior associate across the firm, said Ahuja, taking it to 161 lawyers including the partners. Around 30 articled clerks, training for the Bombay Incorporate Law Society solicitors exam with eight to qualify soon, are also at the firm.

In each of the Ahmedabad, Chennai and Pune offices, one senior associates was promoted: Jay Kansara, Rakki K and Akshay Gandhi respectively.

Amarchand yesterday promoted 13 partners, also with effect from 1 April.
