Former Kainth & Associates partner Satish Srinivasan joined ALMT Legal as a partner in Bangalore in its general corporate practice effective today.
Srinivasan who left Kainth three months ago was the only partner at the firm other than founding partner Dr Amardeep Kainth, who was found murdered at his home in Bangalore in February.
Srinivasan told Legally India that some lawyers have left the firm since Kainth’s death, although he said that he had moved to ALMT for personal reasons.
Srinivasan will focus on joint ventures, offset documentation and structuring for the defence, aerospace and avionics sectors.
He said that ALMT Legal was getting a lot of mandates in aerospace and avionics which were previously handled by senior partner SR Arun. “We have to create a market in these areas. The laws are very unclear right now, so we have to just go ahead and educate foreign investors on the policies and take it forward.”
Srinivasan was at Kainth since graduating from Symbiosis Law School Pune in 2000, and was made a partner at the firm in 2005. He joins seven other ALMT partners in Bangalore out of a total of 22 partners based across the firm’s offices in India and London.
Arun commented in a press release: “During the last two years, we were seeking to induct a partner to strengthen, grow and expand the emerging areas of joint ventures, offset documentation and structuring for our clients in defence, aerospace and avionics, further strengthening our strong and highly regarded corporate practice.
“Satish, with his unique background, specialised experience in the sector and excellent reputation in the profession was the best choice. We look to him in growing into newer markets and geographies as well, considering his expansive knowledge of Europe and its industries.”

Has Srinivasan sold the business to someone or merged the firm with ALMT?
