Seth Dua & Associates advised Chinese telco ZTE Corporation in filing a winding up petition against Indian phone service provider Loop Mobile in the Bombay high court, claiming unpaid dues of over $25m.

Seth Dua partner Salman Waris with litigation associate partner Taru Gupta and associate Arjun Uppal acted for ZTE. ZTE is also initiating arbitration proceedings in Singapore against Loop Telecom in respect of uncleared payments of $3.2m, reported the Economic Times.

It is understood that Loop has not yet replied to the notice; the next hearing date is set for 20 June. Rajani Associates has previously advised Loop on commercial matters but declined to confirm whether it has been instructed when contacted by Legally India.

Loop Mobile and Loop Telecom were in agreements with ZTE Corporation and ZTE India for the supply and services of GSM equipment across multiple areas, including Mumbai, according to the Times of India.
