Link Legal’s projects accounted for one-fourth of the market share of deals recorded by Dealogic this half-year.
Link Legal partner Ajay Sawhney told Legally India that the firm’s deals included power projects, the two biggest road projects, two thermal power projects, and a mining project. The power and road sector comprised the lion’s share of Link Legal’s projects activity, he said.
Amarchand Mangaldas tied with Clasis Law on the highest number of reported deals, with 11 deals.
Amarchand’s 11 deals worth $4.2bn won second place on the league table, while Clasis Law’s $2.2bn worth of deals earned it the fourth spot.
Luthra & Luthra came third with five deals worth $2.8bn, tied with J Sagar Associates (JSA) and R&A Legal Advocates in terms of number of deals.
JSA, the last Indian firm on the table, was third from the bottom, having reported only $405m worth of project finance deals.
Global project finance deal volumes in the first six months of this year slumped to $172bn, which is the lowest first-half-year total since 2009, and down 20 per cent on the $215.5bn in the first half of 2011.
