MPL 2 Quicklinks:
Breaking exclusive: NLU Delhi will battle National University of Singapore (NUS) in the finals of the prestigious Asia Pacific rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot, the decisive moot in the second edition of the Mooting Premier League sponsored by Allen & Overy, which saw a three Indian teams in the Jakarta-based semi-finals.
In the semi-finals MPL top-ranked Nalsar Hyderabad lost to NLU Delhi and GNLU Gandhinagar lost to NUL Singapore, confirmed two reliable NLU Delhi sources independently.
The all-third-year NLU Delhi team consists of veteran mooter Hardeep Singh with Aditya Sharma and Nishith Mishra.
This Tier 2 Global Championship Moot awards a massive 30 points for a win and 25 for a runner-up and 15 points for semi-finalists with high points also going for honourable mentions and individual citations.
Nalsar is now a guaranteed MPL 2 winner but NLU Delhi is poised to take the third position from NLSIU Bangalore and perhaps also leapfrog NUJS Kolkata after this moot, if the team gathers any individual citations.
NLU Delhi is only 29 points behind NLSIU Bangalore and 32 points below NUJS Kolkata, the third and second-ranked colleges respectively.
The final will take place at roughly 4pm Indian time in Indonesia, Jakarta.
In 2010 NLSIU Bangalore lost in the Asia Pacific finals of the Manfred Lachs to NUS, just missing out on defending its 2009 Manfred Lachs world title.

By the way, no one lent credence when we said the team of the NLS was not good. So, to all those who were steadfast and refused to accept the reality, accept the truth(bitter to you) atleast now.
And a bravo to NLU Delhi and NALSAR..!
Good Going guys.
I hope our college cracks it and goes to the world rounds.
And Indian law schools are doing amazing in moots.
Go NLUD.
The article says NALSAR lost in Semis to NLU?
Quoting Nishant:
It's not National University of Law Singapore, it's Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (NUS)
Isn't Bhopal supposed to be in the TOP 3 and all?
Please man, tell me about the drawbacks. I am a Gujarat resident anyway, but I got high enough marks in CLAT to jussst get Bhopal.
Top 3 prefer should be - NLSIU, NALSAR and NUJS . Then comes NLUJ/NLIU
Quoting Kidding:
Seems like they are too involved in Ramdev Baba's hunger hadtaal
You guys have done extremely well!
NALSAR, NLU-Delhi, GNLU, NLS, GLC and HNLU made it to the Asia Pacific Rounds. And every team participated in the Asia Pacific Round.
No idea which college you are talking about.
NUJS did not make it to the Asia Pacific Rounds
NLS did not lose in the semis they were out after the prelims of the Asia Pacific.
"NLS mooters leave for regional rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition to be held in Indonesia between 3rd and 5th June 2011."
I could not stop laughing. Dont they have anything else to share :P
LOL
Even Jessup uses the round point!
I dont understand why cant these people simply accept defeat. I mean is it that hard to accept that teams like NALSAR, NLUD and GNLU performed better than them in a moot? Just another moot guys! Relax!
And they were very much there at Jakarta. They got the 3rd best memo award also.
Way to go!
At jakarta, we didn't make it to the semis. But we got the 3rd best memo award.
This is the NLUD style of responding to ctirics. :)
Then perhaps you are missing the irony.
Congratulations to all the winners :)
All the law schools - NALSAR, GNLU and especially, NLUD!
Well done!
