MPL finale: the fight for runner-up spot in Manfred's handsMPL finale: the fight for runner-up spot in Manfred's hands

Breaking exclusive: NLU Delhi will battle National University of Singapore (NUS) in the finals of the prestigious Asia Pacific rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot, the decisive moot in the second edition of the Mooting Premier League sponsored by Allen & Overy, which saw a three Indian teams in the Jakarta-based semi-finals.

In the semi-finals MPL top-ranked Nalsar Hyderabad lost to NLU Delhi and GNLU Gandhinagar lost to NUL Singapore, confirmed two reliable NLU Delhi sources independently.

The all-third-year NLU Delhi team consists of veteran mooter Hardeep Singh with Aditya Sharma and Nishith Mishra.

This Tier 2 Global Championship Moot awards a massive 30 points for a win and 25 for a runner-up and 15 points for semi-finalists with high points also going for honourable mentions and individual citations.

Nalsar is now a guaranteed MPL 2 winner but NLU Delhi is poised to take the third position from NLSIU Bangalore and perhaps also leapfrog NUJS Kolkata after this moot, if the team gathers any individual citations.

NLU Delhi is only 29 points behind NLSIU Bangalore and 32 points below NUJS Kolkata, the third and second-ranked colleges respectively.

The final will take place at roughly 4pm Indian time in Indonesia, Jakarta.

In 2010 NLSIU Bangalore lost in the Asia Pacific finals of the Manfred Lachs to NUS, just missing out on defending its 2009 Manfred Lachs world title.

Allen & Overy is the sponsor of the MPL 2 and is hosting an international finance and corporate course at Nalsar Hyderabad between 4 and 8 July.

"Illogical Judging at the International Rounds, too." This is what the students of the so-called top law schools would come and spew, because NLS, which won the ISRO funding rounds, didn't make it big at the Asia-pacific rounds.

By the way, no one lent credence when we said the team of the NLS was not good. So, to all those who were steadfast and refused to accept the reality, accept the truth(bitter to you) atleast now.

And a bravo to NLU Delhi and NALSAR..!

@# Orwell --- Your words reflect you insecurities with the National law Schools...Perhaps you couldn't achieve what NLS,GNLU,NLU Delhi and NALSAR did. NLS lost in the semi's and what matters there is you performance. Perhaps NLU D was a little better for that matter. If you'v ever mooted you'd known this simple fact. What matters is that these NLU's have performed at the International level as well. I bet you are from some Third Grade Private law institute frustrated over the fact that you don't get these opportunities and resources. Most of the Non- Nations don't even have access to databases like Heinonlin, west law and lexis-Nexis. Instead of appreciating the remarkable performance, you seem to be an ardent critic of the National law schools. I wish a good future for a loser like you, because you'll have to struggle to make your presence felt in the legal fraternity but with us the students of National law schools...its a cake walk...given our acumen and the brand .
