As the fastest candidates are starting to come out of the first All India Bar Exam that is set to end by 3pm today (Sunday), according to one report the standard was “very easy” and candidates were overheard loudly comparing answers. Share your experience here.
One candidate who had wanted to leave the exam venue early but was at first not allowed to, said: “It was very simple and every option was taken directly from the text. The second part was very simple – you didn’t even need to open the booklet.”
The 2010 graduate from a national law school added that there were roughly 1,000 candidates to the exam hall. “Cheating was going on,” he said. “One [candidate] was asking another loudly what is the answer to question 63.”
“The biggest faux pas was they asked candidates to write their enrolment number […] but 90 per cent of students did not have it,” noted the examinee, explaining that the invigilators made a phone call and candidates were allowed to write their names on the paper.
All candidates’ hall passes were checked but proof of identification was not asked for at the venue and no search was carried out for mobile phones and other electronic equipment, contrary to earlier intimations.
What was your first bar exam experience like? How difficult was the exam? Share questions and answers, discuss the venues, invigilation and more here.

Interestingly, many candidates with whom I had interaction, shared my view that the material provided by BCI (Rainmaker's) is very good.
God save this profession from these educated(?) goondas.
in countries abroad only a minority pass but here 99% will pass. recruiters will continue to prefer NLU students. what kind of reform are we talking about?
JAIPUR CENTRE
For the candidates appearing this is a point for which they have prepared for half a decade. Their choice of career depends on this one exam. 3 hours.
For what? To make the profession more respectful. Bull is my opinion. If your a good lawyer, your going to be respected. Period.
On another note, has anyone noticed the amount of crap happening in TN? I am not racist against Tamils but it seems to be the hub of corruption in India not just in politics but also law.
I think there might be a fair number of people who'll recalculate their chances once an answer key is released (which btw, BarHacker should get on ASAP ;-) )
Feel completely vindicated for having opted for the BarHacker crash course - The mock tests and the subject indexes made life so much easier! Money well spent.
Good way of reform indeed.
1. thanks for comming (as if it was his personal invitation).
2. results will be anounced on 15th march (when all will pass then what is the need of declaring result).
3. (an advocate to gs) sir why r u talking in class n wasting our time, will u give us 10 minutes extra? yeah 10 extra minutes granted, swift reply (what a despot)
(a decent exit thereafter)
regards: an eyewitness.
Sir my stature is too small to write to you but still I write this to you with lot of expectation and each one of us who has written above respects you like anything we look upto with lot of expecations.
Sir some how were feel cheated by this exams and feel like no useful purpose is served by this examination if these examinations are held for some other purpose for doing rouitne check then it must be stopped.
Sir, when you came up with this concept of Bar examination we were completely against it as we thought that it was too harsh on us and we are being complled to give this examination and its brought to our notice only two weeks before the examination, our dearer friend Fatepal who is no more was our flagbearer filed a writ changelling the Acts of the BCI but after reading your blog in legally india we completely agreed with your opinion which completely changed our mindset and started looking things as you showed us, as you said Sir this examination would be for our benefit only.
In today's newspaper when I read your Article Sir, i was truly moved by it, a thought that now this profession would be taken to higher degree the glory of the past would be revived which is missing these days, we felt the honesty of your word which literally brought tears to my eyes when i read the article closing with an beauitful lines where you address" its a big day in my life "
Sir but when we witnessed what all happened the atmosphere of the hall was very pathetic, I must tell you seeing mass copying, three people in one seats, open house dicussions, I asked myself is this was promised to us,is this the new change that is for our benefit ? to which i had no answer .
Sir, I must tell you i went out of the hall and for fifteen minutes i was thinking wheter to write this examnation or not , but ulimately due to fear of being solded by my parents if i dont clear this examination i went in to write the paper,Sir you could imagine the atmosphere of the examination hall.
Sir,i dont have an iota of doubt that you should be blamed for it but our trust in you that you reposed has tremendously gone down some how feel that you must write and some how convenience us, and there is also a very personal interest involved in my request as I am from Lucknow where i and some of my friends tried to pass on your vision about the Bar Examnation and requested students not to support the Bar examnation, Sir we are very proud to inform you that we carried out this job very successfully and as per the information there was no writ filed in Lucknow Bench challenging the Bar Examination
Sir, now we would extreamly gratful if you guide us in difficult times.
I must also take this opportunity congratulate the team of legally india for providing us with all the minute information about the bar examnation, without legally india our journey to the All india bar Examnation would be very difficult, extremely great full to team of legally india.
Thanking You,
Yours Sincerely,
RAM
The paper was a mockery. It was too simple. (Probably done intentionally to gather support from the student community to not further their protests with the same vigour).
GS came to the centre (at least to my centre) and wished all the candidates luck for their paper.
It was a simple paper, no one should get below 40%
Waiting for the answer key now...

Thankfully, none cheated in my exm hall at least.
I gave exm without evn looking at books. Nw m waiting for results.
Bt i request BCI, if they are interested to carry on with AIBE from next yr also, then plz raise d standard of questions.
Secondly, don't make it an open book exm, such a shameful thing for any genuine law graduate who hs actually studied during graduating in law.
Lastly, don't give prizes for toppers as this is not an excellency exm bt just a qualification test for carrying practice of advocacy. And most imp. how cn sum1 claim of being a topper in an open book exm, isn't it more shameful?
I don't knw wat others think, bt i don't intend to make a show off dat m very smart kind of (else i wud hv given my full name also wid dis comment
What do you think???? Plz Share...
I must admit though that it was fun to fill up those little circles with black ink. Felt like I was in third grade again and could almost hear my art teacher yelling at me to stay within the lines.
kindly write ur views in short.... no1 is giving exms here.... appologies if it hurts ur sentiments, but ppl dont feel lyk to read if its more lengthier than necessary .... peace

Just to clarify, the BarHacker guys have actually been working overtime to get the answers.
First problem was: getting hold of an answer sheet because many invigilators actually wouldn't permit removal. (and no one has been too forthcoming in sending one to us, despite requests on FB and Twitter).
Second problem: putting the answer sheet in a presentable format (we currently have a huge PDF, which is unwieldy and needed cleaning up).
Third problem: Making sure all the answers are correct.
In any case, if you had been following BarHacker on Facebook, the team published model answers earlier today:
www.facebook.com/pages/BarHacker/203989006278010
They are working on putting this in a format that people can understand without the answer sheet too - please bear with them, they are a lot of questions.
Best wishes
Kian
There is no right to conduct such an exam to advocates by AIBC, because the exam denies the livelihood of a citizen. After enrolment as an advocate a person cannot engage in business or any full time job, though if an advocate fails to qualify the exam the advocate cannot file vakalathnama, he has no other means of income. There the advocates right as a citizen is denying by this exam. It suppose not to happened in future. So, the AIBC can conduct such an exam before enrolment as an advocate.

imagine the furore if they set a tough paper!
If u want the bar to be cleand and touts, goons should not come into this profession and expolit poor people get justice things have to be properly dealt with, people who are organising this examination should know the pros and cons of the examination to improve things. There was noting personal about your point you put forward, but i must confess i dont agree with your opinion, what all i wrote i thought was my duty or else i will be failing in it.
Thanks for the information re bar-hackers answers.
At least a few answers on the bar-hacker facebook page are wrong:
11) The answer ought to be (a)
16)The question speaks of reservations in favour of backward classes of NON-citizens, which aren't provided for in (d) Article 16(4), which is listed as the correct answer
27) (a) is definitely wrong because you can't claim a fee for storage. The right answer is either (d) or (e)
76) Part-performance by definition speaks of agreements that aren't registered, so I don't think (b) can be the right
84)The question is different from the one in the reading material, as the person is born to christian parents. This makes her a christian, regardless of whether she claims to be one, which is option (d), not (a) or (b), as suggested by bar-hacker
I'm posting these here because I'm sure they'll be communicated to them. I don't know how to post there without being a member
Indeed, once a candidate passes Law Degree, conducting a separate exam to start practicing is a elitist decision. There's no such examination for Medical or Engineering or Management passed candidates while starting their career. It's my personal view.
