Only 2% of bar exam applications faulty or study materials undelivered

Only 377 applicants out of 22,267 have not completed their bar exam forms correctly, while only 38 have not received their study materials, according to Bar Council of India (BCI) records released today.

Following yesterday’s BCI announcement that more than 22,000 applicants would be ready to sit the exam on 6 March 2011, the BCI has today released the list of names whose applications that were incomplete for a variety of reasons, including incorrect demand drafts, missing documents or incorrect information.

The BCI had estimated last year that there were between 50,000 and 60,000 law graduates in 2010 who would have to sit the bar exam.

Under the current proposal, graduates would be permitted to practice law if they signed an affidavit to take the bar exam.
