A fourth-year law student from NLSIU Bangalore has penned a novel called “Join the Bar” in the vein of Chetan Bhagat’s IIT-based fiction “Five Point Someone” and narrates three law students’ lives and experiences during their study of law.
The 20-year old Brajesh Rajak whose book will be published by Universal Law Publishing talks about life at a law school from the perspective of a student coming from a small town. The book is believed to contain vivid narrations ranging from the dilemmas students face about their career path, their campus love stories and other tales, according to the Times of India.
"I had the climax mapped out. As for characters and incidents, it's just a modified version of what I saw around me. For instance, I found it very difficult to understand the lectures. All the English I've learnt is after coming to the institute," the TOI quoted Rajak.
"When I came to Bangalore from Begamganj near Bhopal, it was a culture shock for me. I was surprised at the freedom students have, including the access to alcohol."
Rajak said he did not read Bhagat’s books on purpose so his style of writing would not be influenced.

There have been two stories about NLSIU in the TOI over the last week. Both were negative. You didn't cover them. But chose to cover this.
Why does this seem to happen to you Kian? Other websites do not have this problem. Why do you have to be reminded time and again to be impartial? Nonetheless, you still come up with excuses EVERY TIME.
I expect no change in your approach this time. Bring on the excuses.

However, it leaves me severely confused as to what your aim is and has been in your previous comments along similar lines.
Either:
1. you really think that we are biased in favour of NLSIU and believe this is reflected in our coverage because we did not manage to cover a report with questionable detail in the TOI (which in any case has now been blogged about by four bloggers in the Legally India blogs section). You also seem to believe there's some deep injustice taking place here. I can not help but be fascinated by this repeated allegation from you. Why exactly would we exhibit a bias towards NLSIU? Are they paying us money? Are we secretly NLSIU alumni? Are we afraid of the NLSIU network? Or do we simply hate all other law schools? Please do enlighten.
or alternatively, and more likely:
2. ironically, you are trolling for a response and are not really bothered about NLSIU bias, since you seem to "expect no change in approach" and more "excuses". In which case, congratulations, I rose to the bait again.

Thank you also for yours. Please do point out an occasion when we have censored a negative comment about LI? I think there was one comment a year ago which started talking about members of my family but apart from that I can't recall a censoring single comment critical of us. Please do enlighten.

Dont get me wrong, i hardly know Kian or LI, and am hardly an "avid" reader, and dont "usually" "get personal in responses", but my response is JUST to tell you how ridiculous you sound (and perhaps "are") and to show you how it "hurts" to hear stuff about yourself on public forum (its called "getting a taste of your own bitter medicine".
I request all of you to have a grip over yourselfs and if u wanna be critical come up with constructive valid arguments.
But, Kian, If India's largest English Daily is bringing a report on NLSIU whether positive or negative, should not LI be the first to report on it??
Because, trust me a large number of readers from legal world like me visit LI daily whether they read TOI or visit their site or not.
Lastly, what Brajesh is doing is simply superb! He is proving his genius consistently. If I am not wrong, he has already written a nice law book on 'Legal aspects of Pornography' published from Universal, Delhi.
Such a high degree of creativity, commitment, scholarship and hard work commands a reward. Brajesh Rajak, as the name suggests comes from the most backward or scheduled caste - washerman community of India and what he is doing is simply an example of giftedness and genius- all on his own. Such things do not come from the aid of state reservation or so.
Many congratulation to Brajesh! NLSIU is certainly proud of such students it produces.

Agree that ideally we should have picked up the TOI report earlier.
Although generally we try to focus on exclusive news that is not reported elsewhere (which tends to take a lot more time), we do try to aggregate important news from third party sources also. Unfortunately sometimes we are not able to for various reasons but we will continue trying to do our best and picking up the most important news from elsewhere too.
