Luthra & Luthra has made offers to five further students from National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore after what is likely to be its last campus recruitment visit for the year.

The firm has hired a total of 24 students to start in 2010, which far exceeded the direct campus recruitment figures from the previous year.

Senior partner Mohit Saraf (pictured) explained that "last year we recruited only handful of lawyers from the campus", adding that the lateral associate market was more attractive during the downturn.

He said that for the financial year ending March 2009, the firm's revenues grew by 57 per cent compared to the financial year ending March 2008, despite lawyers operating at less than full capacity during the difficult financial climate.

"We expect to grow at the same pace for years to come," he said. "As most of our clients are focussed on growth, we end up getting fair amount of new business and as a result we need to be in the hiring mode at all times."

Luthra & Luthra has now hired a total of five further final year students from NLSIU Bangalore's five-year LLB programme.

In addition to this last round, the firm has now hired a total of seven students from NALSAR Hyderabad, six from National Law University (NLU) Jodhpur, five from NUJS Kolkata plus one earlier offer to a student from NLSIU Bangalore.
